Our Egypt visa application process

How to apply for your Egypt visa with Alif Visa

1

Complete your online application

Answer a few simple questions to find out whether you need an Egypt eVisa or another Egypt visa or document to visit the country. Then, upload your documents, and pay securely. You can save your progress and come back anytime. Most people finish in less than 10 minutes.

We’ll guide you through any unclear steps during the application process.

2

We review your application

The Egypt visa system is known for being difficult to navigate – your photo must be the right size, and your passport scan must be clear. We check for errors, missing information, or anything that could slow down your approval.

3

We submit it for government processing

We’re not the Egyptian government, but we submit your application to them and are here for you along the way if there are any problems.

4

Get your Egypt visa

Once your Egypt visa application is approved, we’ll notify you by email right away and let you know how to use it for your trip.

Visa types needed for Egypt

Purpose: The Egypt eVisa is issued for travelers visiting Egypt for tourism purposes, including sightseeing, holidays, and visiting family or friends.

Duration and extensions The Egypt eVisa allows a stay of up to 30 days per visit. It is generally not extendable.

Entries: The Egypt eVisa is available as either a single-entry visa (valid for one entry within its validity period) or a multiple-entry visa (allowing multiple entries within the validity period). Each stay may not exceed 30 days.

Ports of entry: Egypt eVisa holders may enter through designated international airports and major ports of entry, including Cairo International Airport, Hurghada International Airport, Sharm El Sheikh International Airport, and other approved entry points.

Delivery format: The approved eVisa is issued electronically and sent via email as a PDF. Travelers must print a copy of the approved eVisa and present it, along with their valid passport, upon arrival in Egypt.

Egypt Visa Policy

Egypt offers several visa options, including the Egypt eVisa, a visa on arrival (VoA) for eligible nationalities, and visas issued through Egyptian embassies or consulates.

Citizens of many countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, and EU member states, may obtain a Visa on Arrival at Egyptian international airports for stays of up to 30 days or apply in advance for an Egypt eVisa online. Travelers are encouraged to apply for the eVisa prior to departure to avoid delays upon arrival.

Eligible travelers visiting specific resort areas in South Sinai (such as Sharm El Sheikh, Dahab, Nuweiba, and Taba) may receive a free entry permission stamp valid for up to 15 days.

General Egypt visa requirements are:

  • Passport valid for at least six months from the date of arrival
  • Recent passport-size photo
  • Travel details (such as flight itinerary and accommodation address)
  • Valid email address
  • Payment of the applicable visa fee
  • Additional supporting documents depending on the purpose of travel (such as a business invitation letter, if required)

Phone trees and dead-end emails

Hours on hold, then a generic auto-reply 5 business days later — if at all.

Surprise fees at every step

Notary, courier, expedited handling, embassy stamp — each billed separately, often after you've paid.

Standing in line at the consulate

Day off work, parking, queue — and there's no guarantee they accept walk-ins.

One small mistake = restart

Wrong photo size or missing notarization sends the whole package back. Travel plans slip.
